Gutenberg: The editor has encountered an unexpected error.

UPDATE: Yoast has released an update to fix this issue. If you’re still experiencing it, update Yoast to version 8.1.1.

As I was writing a previous post on Gutenberg I came across the following error: 

The editor has encountered an unexpected error.

Here’s a screenshot with the buttons included in the error, but unfortunately didn’t do anything:

Conflict with Yoast SEO

The issue appears to be a conflict with the Yoast SEO plugin. Here’s a thread on Github about the issue: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/9556

As of now, quick fix is to disable Yoast while editing or creating a post. They apparently have a workaround for it, but it seems more work than it’s worth IMO.
