Managing Software Updates
Let's say you pay your employee $25/hr to update your WordPress software on a weekly basis. They will probably look at it once or twice a week (although Cinch looks at it daily), and it will take them on average 1 hour per week, or 4 hours per month. They need to login to the site, check for updates, install the updates and make sure the updates didn't affect the site.

Updates that Break Your Site
So your employee updates the theme files and your site no longer looks the way it did and functionality is broken. Darn! They start troubleshooting what to do. They realize the new version of the premium theme you pay for is the issue. They call your developer that created the site and find out he modified the theme and added code that doesn't allow the new version to function as it should. You can do one of two things, have your developer update the code (an expensive fix that might cause more issues on down the road), or roll back to the previous version of your site and don't update the theme (wait, but do you have a current quick restore backup? won't this cause the site to be vulnearale over time?). This ordeal take 2 hrs, but the problem it's solved.
